Here begins our
reorganized website.
Artists are too often
given to describing their work in terms of the techniques or
materials employed in creating them. This, rather like the
moviemaker who devotes as much time to telling how he made the movie
as to the movie itself, is vanity, and the aura vanishes.
So, rather than
classifying paintings as to medium, process or subject, these are
sorted as to intention. The lines are transparent and overlap, but
some hint of the sense of the paintings in this gallery may be found
in the following five categories:
A Sense of Place
A Sense of Time
A Sense of People
A Sense of Beauty
A Sense of Spirit
Interspersed are the
thoughts of poets and writers of the ages, together with a few of my
own. I hope you will enjoy them.
